As you are very likely aware, new Daylight Saving Time rules are being introduced in 2007. These new rules will be in effect in the United States of America, and will also be observed in some other countries.
NCR recommends that you use the following procedure if you will be observing the new Daylight Saving Time rules, or if you are in a location which has been using and will continue to use the pre-2007 rules:
For 3.02 systems, you will need to download POAM302 version 07.01.19.19, or POSA302 version 07.01.19.19, from the following site: MP-PAS Alphabetical List
For ELS (S1800) systems, you will need to download POAM302 version 07.01.22.10, or POSA302 version 07.01.22.10, from the following site: MP-RRAS ELS Alphabetical List
If you install the POAM302 patch, you should use the sysadm "system_setup" / "datetime" menu.
If you install the POSA302 patch, you should use the osa "Configuration" / "System" / "Date/Time" menu.
Please note:
Even if the date/time/timezone settings already appear to be correct, you must save the values to ensure that the /etc/TIMEZONE file is properly updated. The new TZ value in /etc/TIMEZONE will contain a string which explicitly specifies the Daylight Saving Time start and end dates.
You must reboot the system to ensure that the cron daemon and any applications which rely on the timezone setting are properly restarted.
No other patches or procedures other than the above 3 steps are required. If you have already installed any other Daylight Saving Time patches, you still need to follow the above procedure, and you do not need to remove the other patches.
If you have any questions regarding this procedure, please contact your NCR support organization for assistance.
